The Spirited Garden (Saenggak-haneun Jeongwon) began in 1968, when a single farmer started reclaiming the wasteland of Jeoji-ri, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City. It represents South Korea as a state-designated private garden and is often referred to by the title, "The Most Beautiful Garden in the World."
